Well, it's official.  I have left EDAW and joined LPA.  So much has happened in the past few weeks.  It's crazy.  I was offered a nice salary increase to join LPA and honestly, it was sort of a no brainer.  Opportunities like this doesn't come often.  EDAW has been awesome, treating their employees right... but the bottom line is, more money to pay the bills.  Here's LPA's website.  www.lpainc.com check it out.  They have about 130 people in the Irvine office.  They have architects, interior designers, planners and landscape architects all under the same roof.  It's really cool.

So EDAW decided that for security purposes and this situation, they would pay out my last 2 weeks along with all my vacation time left.  It was a shocker because I basically submitted my letter of resignation and boom... I was packing my boxes.  But hey, I'm not complaining.  It's not often when someone leaves a company and get a bonus.  So I've decided to take a surprise vacation to visit my mother in Florida.  I'm just gonna fly to Miami and drive to Key Largo and knock on the door.  I should take a picture of her face when she sees me.  It's gonna be nice to have a little vacation time between jobs.

My upcoming few months are going to be jam packed again.  My friends and family are coming to visit me.  I can't wait to see them all!  Perhaps a class reunion Vegas trip planned soon as well.  Hope all of you are doing well.  Hope to cross paths again soon!

Just finished my taxes.  Can't find where I should send my federal return to.  Anybody have a clue?  Can't find the address anywhere.  I guess that's their way of forcing you to efile.

Uncle Sam sucks.  I need to start a business to have more deductions.  My money is going towards bombs.

Hit me up with the federal tax addy if you know it.  Thanks!

Thinking Things     by:  Eric Ma

Turn the lights down low,
and unfold your window curtains.

Let the moonlight sneak past the edges
to watch the sillouette of your hands.

Feel your love come tumblin,
it's been a long long time.

Sacrifice today for tomorrow,
start over again and again.

Today at work, I spent half the day with Trent, my project manager traveling around Newport Beach and Irvine looking at retail centers to take pictures and get ideas.  It was fun.  I learn alot from this dude.  At times, he's like a kid in a grown man's body and at other times, he is wise and serious.  We had lunch together at some japanese restaurant and we talked about our problems.  We are close and can talk about things he probably doesn't mention to other people at work.  It's nice working with him, even though alot of other coworkers like to bad mouth him.

Softball season starts soon.  Got our coaches meeting next Monday at some local pizzeria.  I hope I can get enough people to come out and play on a regular basis so we don't forfeit.  We went 10-0 last season.  The year before I took over, we were 0-10... hmmmm... where's my coach of the year trophy?

My cell phone and home phone companies suck.  They keep charging me hundreds of dollars.  I really need to call them and get it straightened out.  Don't you hate it when you get a totally bogus bill and you wonder, did I really call that much?  Then you spend hours on the phone trying to figure it out.  What a total waste of my time.

Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks is juice from heaven.  Go get some.

Hello!  It's been a while since I blogged.  I've been extremely busy and lazy all at the same time.  My most recent escapade was to Key Largo where I visit my parents for 5 days.  My Mom took such good care of me and Jimmy was more so like a father than ever before.  Being apart from each other has both good and bad.  The good is that I have my space and don't have my Mother constantly lecturing and watching everything I do.  I think my Mother crosses alittle into the excessive side when it comes to control.  She has her nose in my business all the time.  She is changing and getting better though.

Coming back to California on the plane made me realize that I should be closer to my parents.  They are getting older and I can feel they want me to move closer to them so they are close to their son.  So, I have made myself a plan to move to the Miami area before ago 30.  I think it's something I need to do regardless of what's going on.

While I was in Florida, I was at the water 75% of the time.  We were shrimping, crabbing, fishing, and I even caught a huge ass 8lb lobster.  I ate that thing hard.  It was delicious.  My shoulders and neck got burned fishing topless for just 2 hours.  It's finall starting to peel now.

I'm heading to Vegas this weekend with my roommate Bryan and his 6 guy friends.  It should be a blast.  Mr. Hookup got a rental car and we're gonna drive up there and hit up the strip.  It's my first time to Vegas so not really sure what to expect.  I just hope we have a safe trip and no one gets hurt or kidnapped.

Work is good... really busy.   I'm being more proactive in taking on more responsibility.  I've got 2 big projects under works, one a 1200 acre masterplanned community which will house more than 8,000 people, and the other a 450 acre shopping center which will house Home Depot, Fitness Club, Bunch of franchise stores, fast food restaurants, bank, you get the gist.  I've asked the Project Manager to allow me to assemble the add service which is basically an add on contract to our current contract due to client's extra requests.  I'm enjoying it but worry a bit that it's gonna take more of my social life and relax time.  EDAW softball is startin up, which I'm the team Coach and Manager for.  This adds another responsibility to my list which I need to organize my time to fit in and do a good job in.  I'm more fit this year than last, plus they are not pumping me full of chemicals like they were last year, so I should have a good season this year.  My opponents won't recognize me because I'll have hair this year.

I wish I can post some pictures up on here, but my Xanga Premium is expired and I'm not about to pay for some service that nobody really pays for.  Oh, I joined Costco today.  I think it was a good move on my behalf.  Thank you.  I was there today and bought a new phone.  It's okay so far.  I don't really like the clam shell but I'll give it a shot.  If I don't like it, I can just go and return it.  It has a digital camera which is good, but I'll be bored with in about 15 minutes.  Maybe I'll see Elvis in Vegas and snap a photo and make 1 million dollars selling it to the Enquirer.  Then I'll get a new phone.

The End... for now.
